Last year, we saw major strides in creating a more open and accessible media. Comcast withdrew its proposed merger with Time Warner Cable and consumer rights won in full force, and the Federal Communications Commission established the strongest Open Internet protections we’ve ever seen.
But we still have a lot of work to do to stop new proposed mergers, promote greater diversity in the media, and increase access to information.
Join us at California Common Cause's Media and Democracy Summit
on Saturday, February 20 at UC Berkeley to learn about how we can build
a 21st century media that advances our democracy! Register below!
We will cover recent successes and current campaigns in the media reform world, and we’ll also provide media literacy training and hands-on workshops.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Suggested $5 donation at the door.
